






The MSME Development Discussion was held in Myeik of Tanintharyi Region on July 24. Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo attended the event, and discussed that that micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are vital for job creation, boosting local production, reducing poverty, and driving regional growth.
He stressed the importance of public–private partnership to achieve a win‑win situation, and noted Tanintharyi’s strong economic potential thanks to rich natural resources, maritime trade, fisheries, agriculture, and tourism.
The Chief Minister urged businesses to focus on quality standards, hygiene, consumer trust, branding, packaging, and market demands rather than just price. MSME entrepreneurs also presented their challenges and opportunities, while ministers responded with sector‑specific discussions.
At the event, associations from prawn farming, fisheries, fuel trading, rice trading, and MSMEs collectively donated 170 million kyats to the regional development fund.
