Meeting on security issues: Myanmar delegation attended the meeting

Myanmar delegation led by the National Security Advisor Union Minister for the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office (4) Admiral Moe Aung attended the 12th International Meeting of High-Level Representatives on Security Issues held in St. Petersburg of Russian Federation from 23rd to 25th April and the delegation left St. Petersburg Airport at 11 PM local time on 26th April and arrived at Yangon International Airport at 9:40 PM on 27th April.

At 8 Am local time on 24th April, the NSA Union Minister Admiral Moe Aung accompanied by Myanmar Consule General in St. Petersburg attended the 4th ASEAN-Russia Consultation of the High Representatives for Security Issues jointly presided by the Secretary of National Security Council of Russian Federation and Cambodian representative.

At the meeting, NSA took part in the discussion on the status of implementation for Anti-Terrorism jontly presided by Myanmar and Russian Federation, security cooperation between ASEAN and Russian Federation, providing humanitarian assistance by ASEAN to Myanmar, Myanmar to serve as coordinator in ASEAN-Russia relation in the ASEAN-Russia cooperation, the security measures implementing for the country in Myanmar and the implementations of the State Administration Council by setting five point-roadmap.

Consequently, the delegation led by the NSA attended the opening ceremony of the plenary meeting of 12th International Meeting of High-Level Representatives on Security Issues.

At the opening ceremony, President of Russian Federation H.E. Vladimir Putin sent video messate on extending words of greeting to the opening ceremony and the secretary of Russian Federation National Security Council H.E. Mr. Nikolay Patrushev and officials also extended greeting.

At 10 AM, the representatives of the countries discussed under the topic “For acquiring gurranttee on the information security regarding with the challenges and opportunities for the multipolar of world order including the emerging states.

Myanmar delegation attended the ceremony of laying wrath at the Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad by the Russian Federation National Secutiry Council secretary H.E. Mr. Nikolay Patrushev and leaders of delegations and in the evening, the delegation together with the leaders of representatives from 106 countries and 10 organizations attended a dinner of honor hosted by the Secretary of NSC of Russian Federation and the Union Minister extended words of wishing.

The NSA Union Minister participated in the discussion during the second day plenary meeting of 12th International Meeting of High-Level Representatives on Security Issues  held under the topic “Conservation of National Characterists and the Values of Traditions and Customs in containing the international security, peace and stability”.

The MaJ-Gen Aung Myo Than, a member of Myanmar delegation took part in the roundtable discussion regarding with the major problems of protecting the people amidst the disasters caused by the nature and the human and armed conflicts.

The delegation attended the closing ceremony of 12th International Meeting of High-Level Representatives on Security Issues   in the evening.

During the trip to Russian Federation, NSA Union Minister held bilateral meeting with Russian Federation NSC secretary.

The NSA Union Minister met with the leaders of representatives from People’s Republic of China, India, Bangladesh, Lao PDR separately and discussed the matters on border security, eradication of terrorism, bilateral relation and cooperation, security measures of BIMSTEC Region, sharing information on security and the five point-roadmap of the State Administration Council.

Moreover, the NSA also met with the leaders of representatives from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Republic of Mozambique discussed the matters on friendly relation and cooperation.

While the members of deletation were attending the related meetings, the NSA Union Minister observed the military technological exhibition booths displayed by the military technological companies.

In the morning on 26th April, the delegation led by the NSA Union Minister met with the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg Mr. Grigoriev Evgeny Dmitrievich and discussed the bilateral friendship  and cooperation between the two countries. After that, the trainee officers studying in St. Petersburg were met, gave necessary instruction and provided foodstuff.
