Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with the military officers, Tatmadawmen and families  of Pyin Oo Lwin Station and cadets on Saturday.

The Senior General said Pyin Oo Lwin, long known as the Hill Station, Flower City, and Cherry City, has developed through the efforts of successive administrations. He highlighted that although Pyin Oo Lwin has been promoted as a “Coffee City”, lack of proper management and land use discipline has slowed progress.

Local Arabica coffee has export potential but production cannot yet meet market demand. He added that the region has good soil and climate for flowers and if production and exports can be expanded beyond festivals, it would benefit the region and the country.

He stress to use the fertile land effectively for boosting agricultural production. Emphasizing the pleasant climate of Pyin Oo Lwin that makes suitable for education, the Senior General urged private schools to focus on genuine quality education, not only exam results.

He added that the presence of major universities supports its goal of becoming an education hub. He reiterated that due to its cool and green environment, Pyin Oo Lwin also aims to become a health city, and added that modern hospitals and development projects including new markets, hotels, and upgraded town centers are underway.

He encouraged local residents, government staff, and military personnel to cooperate for the region’s development. He pointed out that historically, the Tatmadaw has played a leading role in national politics and will continue while armed groups remain active.

He said when peace and stability are fully achieved, Tatmadaw representation in parliament can gradually be reduced. He called on all military officers, Tatmadawmen, and families to remain united, fulfill their duties effectively, and work for the interests of the Tatmadaw and the country as a whole. After the meeting, the Senior General cordially greeted the attendees and fulfilled their needs.
