Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw: SPNC meets working group of political parties

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) convened a discussion with the working group of political parties at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. 

The meeting was attended by SAC Member Union Minister at the Union Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen YarPyae and NSPNC members, and leader of the working group of political parties Shan Nationalities Democratic Party (SNDP) Chairman U Sai AikPao and representatives of the working group.

At the meeting, NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen YarPyae and SNDP Chairman U Sai AikPao gave opening remarks. Next, the working group of political parties proposed the points be amended to the 2008 Constitution, followed by the informal discussion of NSPNC on findings.

Then, participants exchanged their views and opinions. In regard with re-organization of political parties, they discussed the situation in which the working group of political parties can be reconstituted after the establishment of the political parties that will be formed in accord with the Political Parties Registration Law.

After that, the attitudes from both sides were documented and then the SNDP Chairman spoke words of thanks and the NSPNC Chairman made concluding remarks. The books on global affairs, Myanmar affairs and ethnic affairs were presented as the gift.
