Meeting with Local Farmers: MCRD UM met with local farmers from YGN and Bago

In order to implement cooperative-based agricultural businesses, Union Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein and concerned officials met with the local farmers from Yangon and Bago regions on Tuesday. During the meeting with the officials and trainees at the Weaving and Vocational Training School (Shwe Taung) in Bago, the Union Minister and party heard reports on the opening of short and long term training courses and jobs creation for the trainees.

The Union Minister instructed to nature skillful individuals in weaving industry while preserving traditional heritage, to create job opportunities connecting with private entrepreneurs and to support necessities for those who want to run their own businesses. The Union Minister toured around the training conditions, training rooms and hostels and gave necessary instructions.

The Union Minister and party also inspected the renovation works of Lake Ou Kone-Kyauk Twin-Yan Kin Taung road implemented by the Department of Rural Road Development in Thar Yar Wadi Township. Upon the completion of the renovation works, the road benefits to over 1,600 cultivated acres for 448 households.

The Union Minister and party then proceeded to Yin Tike Kwin Village in Taikkyi Township, met with the officials from Cooperative Societies and locals from Kyaik Sa Kaing and Gyo Phyu model villages and heard the reports on implementation of cooperative-based agricultural works by the officials.

On the reports, the Union Minister stressed the needs of cooperative efforts among related departments for sector wise development of rural area. There, the Union Minister and officials provided fertilizers to the farmers from Yin Tike Kwin , Kayin Kyun Chaung and Lauk Lay Chaung villages for monsoon paddy cultivation.
