






Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe met with university rectors, principals of Education Degree Colleges, and Directors of Education from Regions and States at the Meeting Room of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on May 28.
During the meeting, the Union Minister stated that schools will reopen on June 2, and emphasized the need to ensure clean, orderly, and pleasant school environments before June 1. He instructed that school principals and relevant officials must systematically and consistently inspect both the interior and exterior of school premises, including classrooms and school buildings, to maintain proper standards.
He further stressed the importance of working collaboratively and unitedly to improve the quality of education, ensure access to schooling for every school-aged child, and increase the promotion rate between grades. Following that, Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint discussed methods to enhance teachers’ subject-matter expertise and teaching effectiveness.
Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing then spoke about improving promotion rates, student retention, the systematic management of educational records and data, and fostering warm and respectful relationships within the school community.
Next, Director Generals shared information related to the responsibilities and activities of directorates and departments, universities, basic education schools, and Education Degree Colleges. The meeting concluded with a closing address by the Union Minister, wrapping up the session.
