Measures for Broadcasting Industry: Broadcasting Governing Body holds meeting

The Broadcasting Governing Body-BGB of the Ministry of Information held its meeting (1/2023) in Nay Pyi Taw through online on Tuesday. Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint, officials from the Ministry, Myanma Radio and Television, Myawady TV and broadcasting companies that are joint venture with MRTV attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister stressed on cooperating in peace, stability and development of the state by the media that are cooperating with the Ministry, supervising on the broadcasting programs that there are no errors, informing to the public with responsibility and accountability by the responsible companies if the pay TV channels can’t broadcast the programs after announcing that they will show, providing good service, timely payment of taxes, electricity bill and contract service fees, to be compliance with relevant laws, bylaws and regulations in staying of foreign employees from the companies and visa issues.

In response to the reports of officials, the Deputy Minister coordinated essentials. The Broadcasting Governing Body-BGB is chaired by the Deputy Minister for Information and formed with officials from the Ministry, the Myanma Radio and Television and the Broadcasting Companies that are joint venture with MRTV, altogether 21. The work coordination meetings are held once every two months and measures are being undertaken to be smooth in broadcasting tasks.
