


The matriculation examination of 2019-2020 academic year commenced in the whole country on 11th March.
Over 970,000 students, including from all Government high schools, Private schools, Monastic schools and informal students, are sitting for this year's exams.
Students have to sit for eight types subject group, and the subject group of Myanmar, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Economy saw the most of the students with more than 580,000.
Assistant Supervisor, Chemistry Teacher( BEHS No.2, Latha), Hnin Wai Wai Kyi said “The questions format have a few changes starting last academic year. I expect that there would be no different in this year. I cannot say surely it have any changes or not. In this school, most of the students are from the Practicing High School and informal students who took subject groups (1) and (7). Subject Group (7) mainly comprised with science subjects including Biology and group (1) is for Economy. The rate of students who sit for the exam is 96.25 percent for this year.”
There are about 2000 examination centers which increase over 100 centers compared to last year. There are also 10 examination centers, opened for 188 inmate students.
At the Practicing High School in Kamayut Township, parents are waiting outside for their children, hoping the best for their efforts through the year.
Parent, Tin Tin Thaw said “I’m very exciting for this exam. I have supported my best for my child. The teachers also helped in preparing for this matriculation exam since March last year.”
The matriculation exams starts from March 11 till the 20th. It is leant that the Certificate of Completion of Basic Education High level will be awarded to the students who meet the requirements starting this year.
