





A ceremony to lower the national flag to half-mast in observance of the 79th Martyrs' Day was held at the Secretariat in Yangon on Sunday morning.
The ceremony was attended by Yangon Mayor U Myo Myint Aung, who serves as Secretary of the Martyrs' Day Organizing Committee, committee members, departmental officials, district and township administrative officials, firefighters, Red Cross members, and a guard of honour.
Participants paid tribute to General Aung San and the fallen Martyrs by lowering the national flag to half-mast and observing two minutes of silence. The Secretariat was open free of charge to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors were able to tour the historic meeting room where General Aung San and the Martyrs were assassinated, as well as the Parliament building. Historical exhibits, personal belongings of the Martyrs, and archival photographs were displayed, attracting many visitors, including students.
