A makeshift hospital is being built in Monywa of Sagaing Region for COVID-19 quarantine process.
The makeshift hospital construction with the use of 15 shipping containers in the land owned by Consumers Affairs Department is set to be completed within 7 days.
Social Affairs Minister, Sagaing Region Government, Dr. Zaw Win said “Each room has a capacity of 2. 10 out of the 15 containers are designed for suspected patients and the other 5 are for medical staff, and medicines and equipments storage. We have a generator in case of power outage.”
The containers with quarantine facilities were donated by a local resident. The makeshift hospital is to quarantine the COVID-19 suspected patients who returned from abroad.
Donor, Myo Win Lay said “All of us have to cooperate – have to fight together against the COVID-19 disease. We will overcome the situation with unity of the people.”
In Monywa, preparations were also made at General Hospital, and the Regional Government already arranged buildings for quarantine process.
