Major Progress Made on Shanghai's Airport Railway Link

Construction was completed on the starting section of a railway link between Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao airports on Wednesday. This means the core connection between the airport link line and the Hongqiao hub has been opened, which will also save time for the subsequent construction.

With the last 32-meter-long girder put in place, the starting section of the airport link was completed. So far, the main structure of Shanghai airport link line has been successfully completed.

The Shanghai metropolitan railway airport link line is 68.6 kilometers long, and the starting section project 1 has a total length of 3.3 kilometers. The airport rail link will cut the travel time between the airports from 90 to 40 minutes. It is also the only bridge project in the western section of the airport link line.
