Maintenance of roads & bridges: Road & Bridge Upgrading in Yangon & Ayeyawady Regions

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay inspected upgrading of Hlaing Thaya-Twantay-Kawhmu-Kun Chan Kone-Dedaye-Pyapon Road and Twantay-Maubin road connecting Yangon Region and Ayeyarwady Region and maintenance tasks for the long-term sustainability of the bridges on 6th March.

On arrival at Twantay suspension bridge, the Union Minister called on officials to inspect bridge girders and ropes in detail, bridge durability and upgrading tasks. The Union Minister and party then arrived construction site of Kun Chan Kone detour road in Yangon Southern District and looked into laying concrete and installation of PC girder by using lounching technology on Taw Pale bridge, and called for work site safety.

The Union Minister together with the Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister proceeded to Dedaye bridge. The Union Minister stressed on the long-term maintenance of the bridge and inspected the repair work of the bridge iron frames.

The Union Minister and party looked into Pyapon, Kyaik Lat, MaU Bin road condition and upgrading of Mau Bin-Twantay road. He urged officials to carry out the tasks meeting set standard and applying renomatress technology in road and bridge construction of other regions and states and looked into road extension and the use of technology to prevent flooding of road.
