Lockdown in Northern Ireland extended by 4 weeks

The coronavirus lockdown in Northern Ireland is to be prolonged by four weeks, First Minister Arlene Foster announced on Thursday. The restrictions had been scheduled to be lifted next month but the arrival of the virus variants and continuing pressures" on hospitals and intensive care units left the authorities no choice but to extend the lockdown until 5 March, the minister said.
