
Union Minister and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo attended and encouraged the paper reading session of the Diploma in Legal Advocacy (DLA) course conducted at the Ministry of Legal Affairs on August 19.
During her attendance, the Union Minister and Union Attorney General stated that legal research is extremely important in Myanmar. She highlighted that the Ministry of Legal Affairs has established the Legal Research Unit Steering Committee (LRU-SC) and the Legal Research Unit (LRU) to write and present legal research papers.
She added that drafting research papers enables individuals to enhance their research capabilities on selected topics and issues, and provides the benefit of finding solutions through both theoretical and practical perspectives, which will lead to the successful execution of duties when applied in the workplace.
Afterward, trainees presented their research papers including "The Public Administrative Capacity for the Enforcement of the Anti-Corruption Law" and "An Analytical Study on Drafting Bilateral Model Investment Treaties to Build a Robust Investment Environment."
