Legal Affairs : Myanmar joins the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

At the invitation of Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Mr. Kostantin Chuychenko, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr Thida Oo attended the 13th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum in St. Petersburg. The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Justice from 19th to 21st May.

During the discussion on the topic of Cyber security, the Union Minister and Union Attorney General presented the cooperation and participation of Myanmar in implementing the cyber law and security as a member of ASEAN. She also suggested that AI technology should be considered in conducting the trans-boundaries legal services and legal affairs. 

The Union Minister also took part in the meeting of the Legal Affairs Ministers, and made a speech. During the forum, a Convention for the Reciprocal Protection of Nationals from Abuse of International Jurisdiction was signed between the two ministries. 

On 23rd of May, Myanmar delegation attended the bilateral meeting organized by the Prosecutor-General’s office in Moscow at the invitation of Mr. IGOR KRASNOV, Prosecutor-General of Russian Federation. They also joined the signing ceremony of Supplementary Manual of Convention and participated in the workshop for legal experts between the two nations.
