Land Management: Shan State holds Land Management Committee meetings

The Shan State Farmland Management Committee meeting and the Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Land Management Committee meeting were held at the State Government Office in Taunggyi on Saturday.

Chairman of the Committees Chief Minister U Aung Aung emphasized that applications for alternative use of land should only be approved for lands that are not suitable for farming. He also stressed the need have proper management on unused lands according to laws. He also stressed that approved lands must be monitored for actual development within the permitted period.

Officials reviewed decisions from previous meetings and discussed new proposals. The meetings concluded with remarks by the Chief Minister.
