Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam said that the city will convert some newly built public housing blocks and identify up to 10,000 hotel rooms for isolating coronavirus patients.   She admits that the city's public health system is overwhelmed but said that there's no plan for a city-wide lockdown.

Last week Hong Kong imposed new restriction, limiting in-person gatherings to no more than two households. It plans to allow only vaccinated people in shopping malls and supermarkets. Schools extended a suspension of in-class teaching to March 6.
