






Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe said that reducing workers or closing factories could harm both employers and employees and negatively affect the country’s productivity and economic growth.
He made the remark during the tripartite meeting in Shwepyitha Township on Saturday. The Union Minister also urged employers and employees to resolve workplace issues peacefully, positively and in accordance with the law.
The meeting discussed employment agreements, workers’ rights, workplace difficulties and ways to improve cooperation between employers and employees. After the meeting, the Union Minister visited K Seng Apparel (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. in Thadukan Industrial Zone, where medical check-ups, laboratory tests, ECG and eye examinations were being provided to 1,008 insured workers through a mobile medical team.
The Ministry of Labour also provides healthcare services to insured workers through social security hospitals, clinics and mobile medical units.
