Labour Affairs Amid COVID-19: Government, Employers And Employees Meet Virtually

The Government, employers and employees met virtually on Friday to overcome the challenges and difficulties amid COVID-19 surge.

In his address to the meeting, Union Minister for Labour U Myint Kyaing stressed the importance of continuous business operation, layoff control, salary payment in time, dispute resolution and workplace challenges handling.

He also highlighted the COVID-19 treatment arrangements and COVID-19 vaccination programme for labourers as well as the plan to send workers to Thailand and the number of workers sent to Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Japan and Malaysia.

This meeting continued with discussions on dispute resolution, difficulties and challenges the employees and employers as well as the industrial zones are facing. The Union Minister coordinated the discussions and called for efforts to overcome the difficulties and challenges.
