The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu Province conducted a full-system drill on Friday to test its preparedness in the countdown to the launch of the Shenzhou-16 manned space mission, which is set to head for China's space station Tiangong in orbit in the coming days.

The drill was basically the same as the launch procedure. The launch center checked the functions of the spacecraft, and simulated the entry of the Shenzhou-16 astronauts into the return capsule. A joint test was conducted on the personnel, spacecraft, rocket and ground operation.

The astronauts simulated the actual flight mission by wearing the space suit in the cabin and entering the spacecraft through fairing. And when everything was ready, the rocket began to simulate takeoff, while astronauts completed the key operations during the preparation and takeoff process. The landing site has also carried out search and rescue drills in preparation for the return of the Shenzhou-15 crew.
