Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung met for Japan-South Korea summit in South Korea on Tuesday. Both leaders agreed to work together to secure energy resources for the region. Takaichi said they both agreed to work together to deescalate the situation in the Middle East.

That includes securing free and safe navigation of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. She also said the two countries agreed to strengthen energy security, which will include sharing crude oil and other petroleum products. They also discussed cooperation on technology related to space exploration and biohealth.
