Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Auckland, New Zealand for a historic two-day state visit, marking the first trip as an Indian leader in 40 years.

Modi and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon discussed the  India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, recently signed in April, which aims to eliminate tariffs on 95% of New Zealand's goods exports to India. Luxon highlighted that 57% of Wellington's exports to New Delhi became tariff-free on day one, and is projected to boost annual exports by $1.1 billion to $1.3 billion over the next two decades.
