Eastern and northern China are on high alert as Typhoon Bavi, a massive storm spanning up to 1,000 km, nears the coast.

The storm is forecast to make landfall near Wenzhou, bringing violent winds and extreme downpours to coastal provinces as well as inland and northern regions like Beijing, Hebei, and Liaoning. Due to the sheer size of the storm, authorities have enacted widespread preventative measures to protect residents and infrastructure.
