

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told reporters Sunday that North Korea fired one ballistic missile eastward. He said firings of North Korea's high intensity ballistic missiles violate the United Nations' Security Council resolutions and that Japan has strongly protested.
The missile, which flew at a maximum altitude of 2,000 kilometers and as far as 800 kilometers before landing outside of the Japanese exclusive economic zone. Flight data indicates that the launch on Sunday was the North’s most powerful since 2017. Sunday’s test was the North’s 7th round of weapons launches this month.
