

The Japanese government has decided to extend more support to workers with young children, as well as those caring for other family members.
The bill to revise the law on child care and family care leave was approved at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The revised bill requires employers to exempt employees with preschool children from overtime working. The current law mainly targets parents with children aged three or younger.
Employers will also be obliged to choose at least two from a range of measures, including shorter working hours, a flextime system, shifting start times, and teleworking.
