Iranian authorities on Thursday claimed that vessel transit capacity in the Strait of Hormuz has reached roughly half of pre-war levels under Iranian-supervised routes. They said that vessels are required to comply with Iran’s safety regulations, follow designated routes, and obtain permission from the Iran Navy.

Despite this announcement, the US-led Joint Maritime Information Center maintains that the regional security threat level remains "severe," with recent U.S. strikes and skirmishes causing significant shipping disruptions.
