Inya COVID Center: Treatment Provided To COVID-19 Confirmed Patients

Inya COVID Center began accepting the COVID-19 confirmed patients starting July 4th.

The number of COVID-19 patients have been increasing in the country recent days, due to the third wave of the pandemic which was initiated from Sagaing Region and Chin State.

Yangon Region also seen the rising numbers of confirmed patients in June with almost 2,000 which only have over hundred in May.

Due to increasing numbers of COVID-19 patients at the hospitals, the Ministry of Health and Sports and Yangon Region Administration Council planned to open the treatment centers.

Head, Yangon Region Public Health and Treatment Department, Htun Min said “Due to rising numbers of patients at the hospitals, we have made arrangements to open the treatment centers. We have 250-bed facility at MCC and 500-bed one at Inya Center. For the patients who do not need for intensive care will be kept at Yoma Center, and around 1,900 patients can be accommodated there. Plans are underway to open two more treatment centers.” 

The center accepts the patients with the recommendation of the respective township heath officers.

Organizer, Inya COVID Center, Soe Yan Naing said “We arranged 500-bed at the center and 104 beds is for the patients who need oxygen. The healthy foods for the patients will be provided with the allowance of 4,500 kyats per day, under the arrangement of Yangon Region State Administration Council. There are also a playground for the children. In addition, patients will get access to the internet access.”

Volunteers from five philanthropic associations are  providing necessary assistance at the Center.

Vice Chairman, Shin Than Khwint Humanitarian Association, Zaw Myo Win said “We are working on two shifts... morning and night. We will carry out our work assignments depending on the instructions of the Patients Receiving Counter. We warmly welcome all the volunteers who are interested in volunteering works.”

COVID-19 confirmed cases in Myanmar have reached over 161,000 with more than 3,300 deaths as of July 3.

The Ministry of Health and Sports announced in early June that new variant viruses of COVID-19 have been found in the country, and public are urged to strictly abide by the instructions for COVID-19 prevention measures.

In order to control the spread of COVID-19, 20 townships in Chin and Shan States and Sagaing, Bago and Mandalay Regions have been ordered under the Stay-at-Home porgram.

 

At the same time, COVID-19 vaccine inoculation has been carried out according to the priority groups. At present, the vaccine has been inoculated to the education staffs. The country have received Covishield from India and Sinopharm from China so far.
