International Toursim Forum : Myanmar delegation attends the forum in Moscow

Aiming for the development of Tourism Industry and Tourism Market, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is continuously participating in International Tourism Exhibitions, showcasing Myanmar’s unique image and mesmerizing tourist attractions.

At present, Myanmar is participating in the 5th Moscow International Toursim Forum and Exhibition, being held at VDNH Park in Moscow of Russian Federation from 10th to 15th June under the theme “ Let’s Travel”. The opening ceremony of the forum was inaugurated by reading a commemorative message sent by President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. It was followed by screening of a video message of Prime Minister of Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

Next, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko  and Economic Development Minister of Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov co-hosted a discussion on “Discovering Russia: How travel is changing the country” with the participation of 7 experts. 

On 10th June, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win met with Economic Development Minister of Russian Federation. During the meeting, both sides frankly discussed on bilateral tourism cooperation, accelerating government and private sector collaboration, organizing FAM Trips, mutual visa-free travel for citizens, cooperative measures to invite Russian civil servants to visit Myanmar on their long-term holiday as well as increasing Russia’s investment in Myanmar’s tourism sector.

After the meeting, the Union Minister made a tour to forum, met with Russian investors from Cosmos Hotel Group and BN Group and made discussions on Myanmar’s famous beaches and tourist attractions, investement opportunities and provision of assistance for pilot project. In the evening, the Union Minister attended the honorary dinner “The Russian Manor: A Celebration of Customs” together with the tourism ministers and senior officials from international countries. The forum includes more than 60 discussions and 350 speakers with about 500,000 attendees.
