International Cooperation: Myanmar delegation attends the security meetings in Russia

Myanmar delegation led by Admiral Moe Aung, National Security Adviser and Union Minister at the State Administration Council Chairman's Office (1) attended the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow, Russian Federation held from May 27 to 29.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from 105 countries and 15 international organizations. Russian President Vladimir Putin made an opening speech via video message, followed by the speeches of the Secretary of the Russian Security Council and Russian Foreign Minister.

During the meeting, Admiral Moe Aung participated in the discussions untitled “"Challenges and Opportunities for the Global South and the Global East" and “International Cooperation on Cyber Security”. At the 5th ASEAN-Russia Consultations of the High Representatives for Security Issues, Admiral Moe Aung also co-chaired the event together with the Secretary of the Russian Security Council.

The representatives from ASEAN member countries made sector-wise discussions on Asia-Pacific security cooperation, information exchange enhancement and response on security challenges and risks. The Myanmar delegation also visited the Victory Museum together with the Secretary of Russian Security Council and international representatives and laid the wreath.

Later, the delegation attended the Science and Technology Forum on Global Security. During his stay in Russia, Admiral Moe Aung held separate meetings with high-ranking officials from Russia Federation, People’s Republic of China, Kingdom of Thailand, Kingdom of Cambodia and Republic of Belarus.
