A ceremony to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day was held at the Myanmar International Convention Center-1 in Nay Pyi Taw on December 9.

The Executive Chief of the National Defense and Security Council Office, U Aung Lin Dwe, attended and delivered an address. First, a Video Message sent by Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, for the International Anti-Corruption Day commemorative ceremony, was shown.

Following this, in his address, the Executive Director of the National Defense and Security Council Office, U Aung Lin Dway, stated that the Government is striving to implement and carry out state reform and reconstruction efforts using people-centered approaches, aiming for stability and rule of law across the entire Union, unity among all ethnic peoples, national prosperity, and food security.

He noted that in these efforts, corruption is a major obstacle alongside various other disturbances, sabotage, and difficulties, as is known to all. Corruption occurs in various forms across political, economic, and administrative spheres. Corruption not only involves the misappropriation of state funds, money, and property but also the abuse of power and authority and the improper use of influence.

He emphasized that for those involved in anti-corruption work, it is a known and essential necessity to promote ethics and integrity to build a corruption-free nation. Therefore, he said it is necessary to set future aspirations, firmly establish action plans as part of a strategic plan, and strive to bring public expectations and anti-corruption goals as close as possible.

He urged not only state servants and civil service personnel, who are crucial in the state's administrative machinery, but all sectors and organizations to participate collectively for the success of anti-corruption processes. Subsequently, the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, U Lwin Oo, presented the International Anti-Corruption Day commemorative plaque to Executive Chief U Aung Lin Dwe with respect.
