Intense heat waves trigger high-level alerts across Europe

Intense heat waves have triggered red-level across Europe, pushing temperatures past 40°C in countries like Italy, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Italy Ministry of Health announced Tuesday that all 27 major cities will be under red heat warning particularly on Thursday. Likewise, the Hungarian government announced that it would extend the highest-level heat warning nationwide until midnight Friday. The Swiss Office for Meteorology predicts that 2026 is expected to rank among the hottest years on record.
