Int’l Olympic Day Event: Shooting Sport Federation holds shooting competition

A shooting competition organized by Myanmar Shooting Sport Federation to commemorate the 2022 International Olympic Day was held from the 25th to the 26th of June at the international shooting range in North Dagon - a total of 71 athletes participated in the competition.

Joint Secretary, Myanmar Shooting Sport Federation, Swe Zin Nyein said "The competition included 5 categories including 10-m air pistol competition for men and women, 10-m air rifle for men and women and 25-m pistol competitions - we used electronic scoring targets (EST) to count scores. We organized this competition to nurture professional shooting athletes in future."

The athletes from regions and states, freelance players and members of the Myanmar shooting sport federation participated in the competition and winners were awarded.  Olympic Day commemorates the founding of the International Olympic Committee at the Sorbonne in Paris, where Pierre de Coubertin rallied the revival of the Ancient Olympic Games on 23 June 1894. The first ever Olympic Day was celebrated on 23 June 1948.
