





Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by responsible officials, visited Kyonpyaw Township in Ayeyawady Region on November 25 and observed the ongoing implementation of inssuing household population lists and citizenship scrutiny cards to local residents whose cards were damaged or lost, as well as to those who have not yet received their cards, under the Pan Khin Project (Phase 3) at the Ayar Min Hall of Kyonpyaw Township Immigration and Population Department.
First, the Union Minister cordially greeted the local people who came to obtain household population lists and citizenship scrutiny cards, inquired about any difficulties they faced, and discussed the matters. He then observed and encouraged the staff who were verifying and issuing household population lists and citizenship scrutiny cards to local residents in accordance with procedures under the Pan Khin Project (Phase 3) through a One-Stop Service.
He also inspected the process of collecting biographic and biometric data and issuing Unique ID numbers through the e-ID system for those who had already received their citizenship scrutiny cards. The Union Minister provided necessary instructions to the responsible officials to fulfill operational needs.
Afterward, the Union Minister observed the implementation status of the five-member committee formed by the State to ensure more effective and faster scrutiny of citizenship applications. He instructed the responsible officials to work in coordination so that there would be no remaining individuals in the respective wards and villages who have reached the eligible age but have not yet received their citizenship cards, and to ensure that the process is carried out without any errors.
Next, the Union Minister personally handed over the citizenship scrutiny cards that had been processed through the One-Stop Service to each cardholder. He also provided refreshments to the departmental personnel who participated in assisting the implementation of the Pan Khin Project (Phase 3), and cordially greeted the local residents.
In order for every eligible citizen to be able to vote in the upcoming multi-party democracy general election without losing their voting rights, the Ministry of Immigration and Population is implementing the issuance of household population lists and citizenship scrutiny cards throughout the country under the Pan Khin Projects. For those who have already received their citizenship scrutiny cards, biographic and biometric data are being collected and Unique ID numbers are being issued accordingly, it’s reported.
