Inspection Trip: Inspections of Paunglaung Dam, Wier, Power Plant

Union Minister U Thaung Han for the Ministry of Electric Power and Ministry of Energy made inspections in Nay Pyi Taw Council area.

First, the Union Minister visited the Paunglaung dam and wier and heard reports on research for more electricity generation and maintenance of the dam and wier.

In his response, the Union Minister called for efforts to generate 166 MW of electricity from the middle Paunglaung hydropower plant and to complete the Hydromatrix research project at the plant.

Also, the Union Minister inspected the inflow and water storage at the dam. The Union Minister also visited the ShweMyo main power plant and heard reports on the plant data, electricity distribution and more transformers construction.

In his response, the Union Minister called on concerned officials to supply electricity continuously and safely, reduce power loss and maintain the power plant. There, the Union Minister also provided cash assistance to staff before inspecting the control room and switch yard.
