Inspection tour in Western Command: Measures for military affairs, security & rule of law

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing together with Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and senior military officers from the office of the Commander-in-Chief inspected arrangements for military affairs, regional security and Rule of Law of the Western Command on Wednesday.

At the meeting hall of the Command, the Commander reported on the brief history of the Western Command, measures for security and Rule of Law in the region, border security, seizure of narcotic drugs, prevention of illegal trades, repatriation of displaced people to their respective regions, providing assistance, health care services to the locals, arrangements for the convenience of the students by opening education centers and agriculture and livestock breeding for the welfare in the battalion.

In response to the reports, the Senior General said that those who serve in the area of the Regional Military Command must understand the history and the actual situations of the area where they take duties. They need to cooperate with the locals for the regional peace, stability and development.

The regiments and units under the control of the Command need to have fighting ability and power. The training schools are urged to conduct constant training sand they need to apply effectively the military skills that they have been taught.

The Senior General stressed to perform correct administration to their subordinates with fair and good commander spirit. The Senior General then met officers, other ranks and families from Ann Station of the Western Command at the hall of the Command.

At the meeting, the Senior General said that the main responsibility of the Tatmadaw is to protect against alien threats that encroach on the sovereignty of the State and to protect the national interests of the country and the people.

The Tatmadaw must perform ceasing armed conflicts, ensuring Rule of Law and regional development as well as prepare for a Standard Army to protect the alien aggression.

As the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) forces are continuously being upgraded in order to improve the strength of the Tatmadaw, individual military personnel must carry out the training properly.

In performing stability, peace, welfare and development of the region, those who are serving in the region need to understand the background history and to know the attitudes of the local ethnic groups as well as need to act with patience. They need to serve their duties for the interests of the region and the country.

The Senior General also stressed the needs on education enhancement in Rakhine State, improving education standard of the offspring of military personnel, keeping the good morale of Tatmadawmen, agriculture and livestock breeding on management scale, striving for improving their lives and having the public trusts to achieve in carrying out responsibilities.

Later, the Senior General presented foodstuff for officers, other ranks and families to the Commander. Wife of the SAC Chairman Senior General also presented cash for the Station Maternal and Child Welfare Association.

After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially greeted military personnel and their families and fulfilled their needs. The Senior General and party then proceeded to the Local Military Hospital in Ann and asked about health condition of officers, other ranks and families who are being hospitalized and presented foodstuff to them.

They then asked about the improvement in the health conditions of the locals who are admitted to the hospital with the medical treatment program provided by Tatmadaw mobile medical team and presented foodstuff. The local military hospital in Ann is giving health care services effectively to Tatmadaw officers, other ranks and their families in addition to the locals.
