







Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited several factories in Mandalay Region on Saturday to inspect damages caused by the recent earthquake and oversee ongoing repairs. The visit include No. 36 and No.33 Heavy Industry in Kyaukse, Home Appliances Factory in Minsu and No.7 Garment Factory in Myittha.
During the visits, the Union Minister reviewed structural and machinery damages, instructing systematic documentation and timely reporting to the regional disaster management committee. He also emphasized the need to boost daily production and ensure uninterrupted operations by maintaining spare parts and raw materials. He also checked transformer repairs and advised careful inspection of the power system to prevent further electrical faults. He instructed that reconstruction follow national building codes and earthquake safety standards, aiming for quick resumption of factory operations.
The Union Minister later visited Wun Twin Township and observed traditional handwoven textile work at the Phopyonecho enterprise and encouraged local production efforts.
