







Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U Aung Myaing, along with general managers and regional responsible officers from Myanmar Railways, inspected the progress of efforts to increase train speeds, the condition of station renovations, the construction status of new bridges along the railway line, the construction of sports fields and stadiums, the Pyin Oo Lwin diesel locomotive repair workshop, the Mandalay carriage repair workshop, the concrete sleeper factory (Myitnge), and the demolition of the abutments of the Sagaing (Inwa) Bridge and the railway approaches on both sides of the bridge, from February 9 to 11.
On February 9, the Deputy Minister traveled on an RBE train from Nay Pyi Taw Central Station and inspected the progress of renovation work to increase speeds on the Nay Pyi Taw - Thazi - Thedaw - Mandalay railway line. He observed the process of systematically filling track ballast to the specified standard between Tatkone and Magyi-pin stations, and the ballast packing work being carried out using not only hand tamping machines but also an Automatic Leveling, Lining & Tamping Machine (ALLTM) and provided necessary instructions.
Following that, the Deputy Minister inspected the construction status of Shan Ywar Station and the structural integrity of Bridge No. 585 between Nyaungyan and Na-Htoe stations.
Subsequently, the Deputy Minister and officials arrived at Thazi Station, met with regional officers, gave instructions regarding planned work activities, and proceeded to Bridge No. 691, which is being rebuilt after being damaged by Typhoon Yagi between Samon စမုံ Station and Thapyedaung Station. They inspected the bridge construction progress, the construction status of Bridge No. 739 between Minsu Station and Kyaukse Station, the site for the reconstruction of the new Kyaukse Station, and Bridge No. 771 between Kyaukse Station and Belin Station.
They instructed that construction must be systematic and in accordance with set standards. They also inspected track ballast filling and packing work on the Pyin Oo Lwin - Gokhteik railway section, the structural integrity of Gokhteik Bridge, the bridge painting work, the fencing work around the bridge piers, the completed viewing point construction on the Lashio side, and the conditions for the construction of a rubberized running track, football field, spectator stands, and an indoor stadium within the Pyin Oo Lwin Station area, as well as the landfilling work for the football field using machinery. They also visited and inspected the Pyin Oo Lwin diesel locomotive repair workshop.
On February 11, they inspected the Mandalay carriage repair workshop, the sleeper manufacturing factory (Myo Haung), the ongoing demolition of the abutments of the Sagaing (Inwa) Bridge, and the railway approaches on both sides of the bridge. They provided necessary guidance and instructions to the responsible persons, it’s reported.
