Inspection of Sports Training: MoSYA UM inspected sports trainings in Yangon

Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman and Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by officials, arrived at the Indoor Stadium within the Aung San Sports Complex in Mingala Taungnyunt Township, Yangon, on July 7.

They were welcomed by the President and executive members of the Myanmar Volleyball Federation. The Union Minister warmly greeted the coaches, preliminary national selections of men's volleyball players, and preliminary national selections of women's volleyball players who were training at the volleyball training hall.

He then gave guidance and encouraging remarks, and observed their training session. Subsequently, the Union Minister, Yangon Region Chief Minister, Deputy Minister for Information, and other relevant officials attended the 2025 Region and State U-18 Track and Field Competition award ceremony held at the Padetha Sports Ground in South Okkalapa Township, Yangon.

They presented awards to the winning individuals and teams. After that, the Union Minister and officials met and warmly greeted the Kabaddi athletes training for selection at the Myanmar Chinlone Sports Hall in the Youth Sports Training Camp, Thuwunna. He offered words of encouragement and then inspected the training of the Myanmar national Kabaddi athletes.

The Director-General supplemented the presentations made by the Federation's President and officials, and the Union Minister addressed their needs. Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister delivered the opening remarks at the 2025 Region and State Sports Competitions Coordination Meeting held at the Ruby Hall in National Sports Arena (1), Thuwunna, Yangon. Following this, the Social Affairs Ministers from the Kayin State, Bago Region, Yangon Region, Shan State, and Ayeyarwady Region governments, along with officials from the Myanmar Football Federation, presented and discussed the arrangements for the competitions to be hosted in their respective regions and states.

These included the arrival dates and times of participating teams, venue allocations for the competitions, accommodation, food and transportation arrangements, efforts to attract spectators, security measures, and the formation of sub-committees for competition organization. Finally, the Director-General and officials elaborated on the detailed requirements for the successful hosting of the 2025 Region and State Sports Competitions, and the Union Minister provided the necessary support.
