









Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, accompanied by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and officials, visited Kone Lwin Village in Kalaw Township, Shan State (South) on Tuesday.
They attended the opening ceremony of a six-furlong gravel road linking the Union Highway with Thar Mai Kham–Kone Lwin–Aung Pan. They formally open the ceremony with ceremonial ribbon cut, took a commemorative group photo and then inspected the road. The Union Minister called for cooperation to ensure long-term sustainability of development projects, coordinated local development needs, heard progress reports and presented commemorative gifts. The Union Minister then visited Mongthauk Village in Nyaungshwe Township.
During the visit, he met farmers and departmental staff from 14 sunflower and summer paddy growers’ cooperative societies, stressing the use of quality crop varieties, systematic cultivation methods and full loan repayment. The Chief Minister explained ongoing support for agricultural cooperatives.
The Union Minister and Chief Minister provided agricultural inputs to 14 cooperatives, inspected five acres of Russian sunflower cultivation by the Pin Myint San Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, and later met six summer and winter paddy growers’ cooperatives in Taunggyi Township.
The Union Minister then coordinated the agricultural and regional development needs. During the trip, the Union Minister inspected Russian sunflower cultivation by Thein Dhana Tun Agricultural and General Economic Cooperative Association. He also oversaw the construction of a village multipurpose hall. He later visited vocational training schools in Taunggyi, urged trainees to study diligently for future employment and inspected the reconstruction of earthquake-damaged school buildings while providing necessary assistance.
