







On the morning of July 19, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, accompanied by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, inspected the Silkworm Research and Technology Development Center and the Dokwin Mulberry Plantation and Silk Reeling Factory in Pyin Oo Lwin. Responsible officials briefed them on the current implementation of the projects and the work plans to be carried out in the coming fiscal years. Following the presentations, the Union Minister provided the necessary guidance and instructions.
The Union Minister and the Region Chief Minister then inspected mulberry breeding and hybridization research fields, silkworm egg production and sericulture operations, silk reeling factories, and the mulberry cultivation and sericulture activities of Shwe Poe Sar Company, which is operating on land leased from the Department of Agriculture. They also inspected the Upper Myanmar Vaccine Production Laboratory under the Veterinary Medicine Production and Disease Control Division of the Livestock Breeding and Veterinary Department, the completed installation of a new 3-foot-high tilting gate at the Yinthama Diversion Weir in Pyin Oo Lwin, and the ongoing construction of the Sin Lan (2) Reservoir Project.
During the inspections, the respective officials explained the progress of each project. Based on the presentations, the Union Minister and the Mandalay Region Chief Minister gave the necessary guidance and instructions.
According to reports, upon completion of the Sin Lan (2) Reservoir Project, surplus water flowing from the Sin Lan Reservoir will be stored and supplied through the Yinthama Diversion Weir and a water pipeline system. The project will be capable of providing one million gallons of water per day to meet the future water demand of the Yadanabon Cyber City Project and Urban Wards Nos. 9, 16, 17, and 18. In addition, it will provide irrigation water for approximately 100 acres of agricultural land.
