Inspection of schools: MoE UM inspected schools in Taunggyi

Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, accompanied by relevant officials visited basic education schools, universities and degree colleges in Taunggyi Township on Friday to provide instruction on their needs.

The Union Minister first visited No. (2), (4), (5) and No. (11) Basic Education High Schools, No. (14) Basic Education Middle School, and No. (10) Basic Education Primary School. He instructed timely renovation of classrooms for the June school reopening, proper maintenance of old buildings and preparation of a clean, student-friendly environment.

The Union Minister then met with trainee teachers from the Diploma in Education and Pedagogy (Dip.EP) course (1/2025) at Taunggyi Education Degree College and at Basic Education High Schools No. (5) and (11). During the meeting, the Union Minister expressed confidence that the Dip.EP course would enhance subject knowledge and teacher quality.

He urged collective efforts to ensure schools reopen on time in June, emphasizing the importance of educating students effectively, increasing the enrollment of school-age children and improving overall educational standards.

Upon arrival at Taunggyi University, the Union Minister met with the Rector, Pro-Rector, academic staff and administrative personnel to provide guidance on enhancing teaching and administration and coordinated the departmental needs. Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister proceeded to No. 4 Basic Education High School and Basic Education Middle School (Heho), met with teachers, provided guidance and fulfilled their needs.
