




Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe, accompanied by Danu Self-Administered Zone Leading Committee Chairman U Akar Lin and relevant officials, on May 15, visited Kyone (Model) Village in Pinlaung Township, Shan State (South), and inspected a sewing training course being conducted by the Department of Small-Scale Industries.
During the inspection, the Deputy Minister gave instructions to coordinate and address the requirements related to the training. They also viewed the handicrafts and sewn items made by the trainees.
Next, the Deputy Minister and officials inspected the 7.6-furlong gravel-paved road linking to the livestock zone in Pawsanthi Village, the completed construction of a 10-foot-wide reinforced concrete bridge, the installation of a 20,000-gallon elevated water tank, and the drilling of a 510-foot tube well.
Following the inspections, they met with local residents and departmental staff at the village multipurpose hall, where villagers presented their needs.
The Deputy Minister explained the development projects currently being implemented by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development in the Danu Self-Administered Zone. He also discussed plans for the 2025–26 fiscal year, which include trial cultivation of monsoon paddy, oil crops, and Russian sunflower varieties in the upcoming winter season.
Chairman U Akar Lin of the zone’s leading committee then gave a briefing on the ongoing livestock farming project covering 357 acres, the installation of a 30-megawatt solar lighting system, and matters concerning regional peace and stability.
In response to the development proposals from the villagers, the Deputy Minister facilitated coordination and collaboration to address them.
Subsequently, the Deputy Minister visited Kyauktae Village in Taunggyi Township, where he inspected a completed water distribution project that includes water diversion channels, 10,000-gallon filtration tank, a reservoir tank, and household water pipeline connections.
He also met with local residents in the village to coordinate and support rural development activities.
