Inspection of repatriation camps: Union Ministers inspect preparations for repatriation

The Chairman of Rakhine State Stability, Peace and Development Work Coordination Committee Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung and Union Ministers together with Rakhine State Chief Minister arrived at Taung Pyo Let We from Sittwe in the morning on February 7 and inspected Myanmar-Bangladesh Friendship Bridge where the displaced persons from Rakhine State are to be scrutinized and accepted when their repatriation.

At the clarification hall of the Taung Pyo Let We acceptance camp, the in-charge of the camp clarified the status of preparations in line with the repatriation process, completion of repairing works of camp with the allotted fund, the plans to be implemented and the requirements and the union ministers coordinated requirements.

Next, the preparation works including immigration processes of entering household list in the inventory, putting in e-ID by obtaining Bio Metric Data, issuing NVC, conducting COVID-19 test, the tasks carried out by the fire brigade and the preparations for the acceptance of transit in the camp were inspected and fulfilled requirements and gave necessary instructions.

Then, the union ministers arrived at Nga Khu Ya repatriation camp, coordinated necessaries and inspected status of work completion in the camp. Afterward, the Pyuu Ma Chaung jetty where the repatriations from water route are to be accepted was inspected and instructed the responsible officials for the necessary repairing works as fast as possible.

In the afternoon, the union ministers and party arrived at Hla Phoe Khaung temporary transit camp in Maungtaw Township and the in-charge of the camp clarified the status of work completion and the union ministers inspected in the camp and gave necessary instructions.
