Inspection of Regional Development: Sagaing Region CM inspected regional development works

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Ko Lay, accompanied by responsible officials, arrived at the Thaphan Seik Reservoir in Kyanhla Township, Kanbalu District in the afternoon on August 2. The Chief Minister inspected the water inflow conditions within the Reservoir, the stability of the retaining dams and spillways, and the distribution of agricultural water to summer, monsoon, and winter crop plantations in townships within Shwebo District, Ye-U District, Tanze District, and Sagaing District that are being irrigated from the Thaphan Seik Reservoir.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and responsible officials observed peanut, millet, pigeon pea, and monsoon paddy crops cultivated by local farmers on both sides of the Kyanhla–Thaphan Seik road. The Chief Minister coordinated with relevant officials to address necessary matters as required.

After that, the Chief Minister and responsible officials attended a demonstration field event on the combined use of chemical and organic fertilizers and the use of green manure on two acres of land owned by farmer U Min Paing in Tatkone တပ်ကုန်း Village, Kyanhla Township. They met cordially with local farmers and addressed their presentations regarding agricultural activities by coordinating with relevant officials as needed.

Following this, the Chief Minister delivered an address at a meeting held in the meeting hall of the Kyanhla Township Administrative and Management Committee office, attended by township-level departmental officials and local elders.

Subsequently, township-level departmental officials and local elders discussed and presented matters related to ward and village development projects within Kyanhla Township. Members of the region government and regional-level departmental officials then clarified the implementation status of development activities for Kyanhla Township being carried out by their respective departments.

Next, the Chief Minister presented cash assistance to the Chairman of the Kyanhla Township Administrative and Management Committee and the Township Hospital Superintendent.

Then, the Chief Minister addressed the presentations and discussions raised by attendees at the meeting and coordinated with relevant officials to take necessary actions as appropriate, it’s reported.
