








Union Minister for the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Communications and Digital Development, U Mya Tun Oo, together with Deputy Minister for Transport U Aung Myaing, officials from Myanma Railways, and responsible officials from Kyaukme District and Thipaw Township, carried out inspection visits from June 16 to 17, 2026, to railway stations along the Pyin Oo Lwin–Lashio railway section, the Kyinthi Bridge, the concrete sleeper factory in Thipaw, and departmental staff under the ministry in Thipaw and Kyaukme.
They also inspected the Gokteik Viaduct, as well as the railway station area in Pyin Oo Lwin, including a proposed high-end shopping center and football field with a rubber running track. On June 16, the Union Minister and officials inspected the completion status of repairs to the 280-foot-long Kyinthi Bridge near Bawgyo Station in Thipaw Township along the Pyin Oo Lwin–Lashio railway line and provided necessary instructions. Afterward, the Union Minister and officials visited the concrete sleeper factory in Thipaw that had been damaged by insurgents.
The project manager explained the ongoing repair work, and the Union Minister instructed that the factory, which was ordered by the Head of State to be completed within 100 days, must be finished as quickly as possible within the specified timeframe. He then toured the factory premises. The Union Minister and officials next visited the Thipaw Post Office under Myanma Posts and Telecommunications, where they met with ministry staff, gave instructions, and provided financial assistance and food supplies.
They later visited Kyaukme Station and instructed officials to ensure that the station compound and rail yard were kept clean and orderly. They then proceeded to the Road Transport Administration Department (Kyaukme District Office) in Kyaukme, where the Union Minister met with ministry staff, delivered remarks, and provided financial assistance and food items.
From there, the Union Minister and officials boarded an RBE train from the railway crossing near Naungpain Station to inspect the condition of the railway tracks. They later arrived at the historic Gokteik Viaduct in Naungcho Township and inspected the structural condition of the bridge, the fencing around the bridge foundations, and the cleanliness and maintenance of Gokteik Station.
The Union Minister also instructed officials to properly preserve historical documentary photographs displayed inside the station, distributed food items to staff, and warmly greeted travelers visiting the Gokteik Viaduct. On the morning of June 17, the Union Minister and officials arrived at Pyin Oo Lwin Station and inspected cleanliness and beautification activities at the station.
They also inspected land designated for the construction of a five-star hotel and a six-story high-end shopping center near the station and gave necessary instructions. The Union Minister and officials then inspected the construction of a football field with a rubber running track within the Pyin Oo Lwin station area, measuring 561 feet long and 308 feet wide, along with a spectator stand measuring 135 feet long and 20 feet wide. The Union Minister instructed responsible officials to ensure completion within the designated timeframe and according to the required standards, it’s reported.
