Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited the Myanmar International Convention Centre-1 (MICC-1) in Nay Pyi Taw on March 19 to inspect and oversee the preparations for the successful organization of the “Forum on Myanmar Beyond 2025: Challenges and Opportunities in the Multipolar World.” The forum, hosted by the Ministry of Information and organized by the Myanmar Narrative Think Tank, is set to take place under the ministry’s supervision.
Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, accompanied by responsible officials, first arrived at the Jade Hall, where the forum will be held. They reviewed the arrangements for the opening ceremony and the detailed planning of the entire event.
The Union Minister inspected the preparations, provided instructions to the officials on necessary requirements to ensure the forum’s success, and addressed arrangements for accommodating international experts in geopolitics and geoeconomics, as well as local and foreign scholars who will participate in the discussions. He also directed officials to facilitate a visit on March 22 to the Maravijaya Buddha Image for the participants, ensuring their stay is comfortable and the visit is well-coordinated.
The forum will feature discussions on three key topics: “The Role of Myanmar and Asia in the Changing Multipolar World,” “Geoeconomic Challenges and Opportunities Myanmar Will Face in the Multipolar Era Beyond 2025,” and “Geopolitical Challenges and Opportunities Myanmar Will Encounter in the Multipolar Era Beyond 2025.”
Experts in geoeconomics and geopolitics from China, Russia, India, Japan, Thailand, Italy, and Nepal, along with local scholars, will participate in the discussions. The event will also be attended by international analysts, intellectuals, political party representatives, political observers, and individuals interested in Myanmar’s affairs.
The forum aims to inform the world about Myanmar’s true situation amid political changes, foster understanding and empathy to encourage cooperation, counter false accusations, enhance the country’s image, and identify challenges and opportunities in the evolving multipolar world beyond 2025. It seeks to provide insights and strategies to prepare for these developments proactively. The discussions will be broadcast live by Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV).
