







Yangon Region Government Chief Minister U Soe Thein and Region Ministers inspected the development progress of the Twantay Livestock Breeding Zone May 13.
To begin with, the Chief Minister and officials visited the project site in the San Daw Kalay compound, Talokhtaw Village Tract, Twantay Township, where water is being pumped from the Twantay Canal to the Twantay Livestock Breeding Zone using a solar-powered pumping system.
They inspected the installed solar system and the materials used in the water pumping operations. Next, the Chief Minister and party inspected the Kan Gyi Kone Reservoir, examining water storage levels, outlet pipes, overflow mechanisms, and the structural integrity of the bridges over the overflow canals.
They also observed how water from the reservoir is pumped using solar-powered pumps to a 10,000-gallon overhead tank and a 10,000-gallon underground tank within the breeding zone, and assessed the ongoing operations to distribute water from these tanks to livestock farms throughout the zone.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister and officials inspected the livestock farms within the Twantay Breeding Zone, which include pig, dairy cow, layer chicken, and quail farms, as well as the construction status of a feed processing factory.
The Chief Minister instructed livestock operators to expand breeding operations to help ensure food security in the region and to increase the cultivation of animal feed crops. Finally, at the Twantay Breeding Zone briefing hall, the relevant departments and officials briefed the Chief Minister and officials on the progress of ongoing operations. In response, Chief Minister U Soe Thein gave necessary instructions and guidance.
