Inspection of construction works: MCRD DM inspected construction of housing units

The Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myint Soe, on May 20, visited Zeyathiri Township to inspect the construction of the Kyitaung-Thayaywan I-Beam reinforced concrete bridge, which is 550 feet long and being built by the bridge construction team under the Department of Rural Road Development.

During the inspection, the bridge construction supervisor briefed the Deputy Minister on the ongoing work. The Deputy Minister instructed that the project must be completed on time with full adherence to quality standards and urged for coordinated efforts to address necessary matters.

Following this, the Deputy Minister proceeded to inspect the ongoing construction of officers and staff housing at Myauk Lwat Kone , under the Department of Rural Development in Pyinmana Township. He examined the layout of rooms for staff, the provision of water supply, and the construction of eight-unit sanitary facilities. He instructed that the work must be completed within the third week of May to properly accommodate staff families, ensure the area does not flood during the rainy season, and guarantee the security of roofing and shelter structures.

In Zabuthiri Township, he also inspected the land plot of the Regional Office of the Department of Rural Road Development, where temporary housing units for officers and staff are being set up, as well as the installation of prefabricated modular houses. At the headquarters of the Department of Rural Development, he inspected the setup of fabricated modular houses.

He also visited Ministry-owned land where temporary Basha housing units for staff from the Minister’s Office, Department of Cooperatives, and Department of Small-Scale Industries are being set up. He checked the placement of fabricated modular houses and gave instructions to ensure proper installation of water, electricity, and sanitation systems, so that staff can relocate and settle in as soon as possible.
