Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, on May 21, inspected the living conditions of staff who had been relocated to temporary basha shelter units constructed for those affected by the recent earthquake.

The Union Minister and officials inspected the site within the Multipurpose Cooperative Farm in Pyinmana Township, where an animal feed pellet factory is planned to be constructed, the temporary basha shelters that have already been completed inside the machinery warehouse compound located in Myauk Hlut Kone, Pyinmana, to check the current living arrangements of relocated staff, the temporary shelter units completed on land belonging to the Department of Rural Road Development in Zabuthiri Township, where staff are currently residing, the status of prefabricated modular houses being installed, the temporary basha buildings built inside the parking lot of the Department of Rural Development (head office), to check the relocation conditions of the staff now residing there, temporary shelters constructed on land owned by the ministry, intended for earthquake-affected staff members from the Union Minister’s Office, the Department of Cooperatives, and the Department of Small Industries.

During the inspections, the Union Minister discussed and gave instructions to ensure that water supply, electricity, and sanitation systems are properly organized and functional.
