Industrial Development: Operation process at Pang Pet Steel Mill

Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than on 17th October visited No.(2) Steel Mill (Pang Pet) where he met with experts from TPE and IED companies of Russia to discuss the progress of Heat Recovery Power Station operation.

During the meeting, the Union Minister stressed to make cooperative efforts for timely completion of the project phases, added that, emphasis will be made for the project which is a milestone of friendship between Russia and Myanmar.  The Union Minister also met with officials from TPE and friendly discussed matters regarding the operation process of the Foundry, safety measures and installation of equipment.

On 18th October, the Union Minister, together with officials, met with the staff and instructed to ensure work place safety and to learn the technology from the experts regarding the operation and maintenance of machines. At the Heat Recovery Power Station, the Union Minister and party observed the installing of machines and equipment.

The Union Minister stressed for effective work implementations in line with the set standards while laying down the work plans systematically. The Union Minister later attended a coordination meeting on operation of Foundry which will be run by Romelt technology, with the support of Russian Federation. The meeting discussed details for the contract with TPE company, results and responsibilities after the process, production of pig iron, quality, operation and other necessary matters.
